This is good news for clean energy in India. MiniMines has received a ₹4.3 crore grant from ACT for Environment, UNIDO and Oil India Limited. The support helps us recover more critical minerals from used lithium ion batteries and return them to work.
What this grant unlocks
We will scale our Hybrid Hydrometallurgy process from a proven pilot to an industrial unit. The new facility will process up to 3,000 tonnes each year. It will produce battery grade lithium, cobalt and nickel for EVs, fleets, telecom and cell makers in India.
How our technology works
Hybrid Hydrometallurgy combines careful mechanical pre treatment with a water based leaching process at low temperature. The method is efficient and responsible. It aims for high purity outputs while using less energy and water. Your team gets reliable recycled feedstock that you can qualify with confidence.
Who benefits first
- EV and fleet operators. Local recycled minerals lower exposure to import shocks and price swings.
- Telecom and backup power. Sustainable recovery supports stable storage for towers and other critical sites.
- Battery manufacturers. Consistent battery grade inputs support circular production and future EPR needs.
Why leaders are paying attention
Major outlets have covered this milestone. PTI, ET Auto, ET EnergyWorld and Outlook Business have all featured our work. The message is clear. Decision makers want solutions that build supply resilience, cut impact and meet India’s green goals.
What partners gain with MiniMines
- Supply security. Domestic recycled materials that meet quality needs.
- Clear compliance. Support for BWMR and EPR with traceable data from start to finish.
- Innovation in practice. A process built for quality, scale and repeat use.
The road ahead
India’s transition needs clean materials at scale. Recycling delivers them at lower cost and with lower carbon. This grant helps us move faster, serve more partners and grow impact across the value chain.Let us build a circular battery economy together
