Appearance
Occurs as a grey to black powder. At room temperature appears as a black odorless solid.
Solubility
Cobalt oxide is insoluble in water but soluble in acids.
Uses
It is a harmful allergenic compound. It is an inorganic compound mostly found as tricobalt tetra oxide. It is mainly used as a pigment for coloring glass and frits. Sometimes also used as catalyst or as a source for metallic cobalt.
