Appearance
Copper metal occurs as a brown odorless solid.
Solubility
Copper metal is soluble in oxidizing acids such as nitric acid and concentrated- warm sulfuric acid.
Uses
Oxygen free copper clippings have numerous advantages: they have a simple texture; the surfaces of the anodes are frictionless; clippings completely dissolve in acid baths; they rapidly produce sludge. The copper clippings quickly form a continuous film until they can be used in a new bath. They are used in the galvanic industry.
